Suzuki AN400 Burgman/Skywave story

Being Suzuki's largest scooter at the time, the AN400 appeared to the Suzuki 1998 year's model range. In the western world the AN family has been known as Burgman but Skywave in Japan. On this page I call the model AN400 Burgman, unless the picture presents a Skyway 400, sold at the Japanese home market.

From beginning of the 2003 year's model the AN400 has electric fuel injection like its big brother, AN600 Burgman — as well as 14 other Suzuki motorcycle models in 2003. In Japan, where the model is called Skywave 400 (BC-CK43A), a Limited Edition model was also available in Pearl Novelty Black / Variable Silver Metallic (LT3).

All new instrument panel with analog speedometer and tachometer combined with LCD odometer, twin tripmeters, clock and all new average fuel consumption readout. New larger windshield for increased rider comfort and creates a smooth flow of air over the rider. New larger 62 liter under-seat storage compartment. New oval section exhaust system now meets Euro 3 emission regulations with a catalyzer and oxygen sensor. New larger 14 inch front wheel combined with new dual hydraulic disc brakes up front. New liquid-cooled, 399cc DOHC 4-valve engine.

il primo modello ha 32hp per 24Kw a 7500 giri, a partire dal mio modello (2002) i Kw diventano 23,5 (mortacci loro!!), ma ho sempre 32hp pur guadagnando 100 giri (7600)... Peggio (sempre sulla carta) solo il K6 che ha stesdsa cavalleria e anche 100 rpm in meno...
Il K7 perde il mezzo kilowatt, perde i 100 giri, guadagna 14cc e ha sempre 32 hp? Non siamo bassini?..Ma la "concorrenza" come sta messa a cavalleria?

ti faccio un esempio dell'X8 400 i.e.
399 cc 34 hp = 25 Kw (è il limite per la patente A) poi la potenza espressa alla ruota(che è quella che conta) non la sò

Molto bello questo topic riassuntivo di tutte le versioni con relativi dati tecnici, anche se qualche dato non è corretto....
alcuni che mi son balzati all'occhio:
-il K7 ha 25kw (34cv) e non 23,5kw come riportato
-nel K7 versione AN (e non type S) viene riportata una cilindrata si 385cc contro quella reale di 399cc
-di questo non son sicuro, ma il peso a secco del K6 mi risulta essere inferiore a quello riportato di 200kg
